In this week's episode, "You Have a Therapist Website -- Now What?", we discuss:
- A great website is only the first step.
- A professional website is today’s business card for your practice.
- A website should focus on your ideal client and not your professional history.
- Your website represents who you are in session.
- Ignore the website shame and just do it.
- You’ll invest either way: financially or DIY with focus and time.
- The importance of website security and analytics.

Cris Roskelly of Growing Therapists
As a psychotherapist and web designer, Cris Roskelley of Growing Therapists knows how to build a successful therapy practice with a hard-working website as her primary marketing tool. She also knows what it’s like to be overwhelmed by all of the marketing options and expenses thrown at therapists and remembers her inner introvert panicking at the thought of in-person marketing. Expanding on her clinical work helping the helpers as The Therapist’s Therapist, Cris decided to bring her unique viewpoint as both therapist and designer/tech-head to help other therapists build successful online presences… and Growing Therapists was born.
Cris is also the author of the MFT Handbook which is required reading in several MFT graduate programs. Titled “On the Road to Becoming a Successful Marriage and Family Therapist: An Insider’s Handbook from Graduate School Through Licensure… and Beyond!” the completely revised second edition will be released in 2018. The MFT Handbook takes a deep dive into how to set up and maintain a successful private practice including what forms you need and where to get them, how to set up a paper or paperless office, how to set up the financial structure of your practice (i.e. a business plan) including templates, how to pick your niche and choose the best marketing tactics to target your ideal client, how to write exceptional website copy and blogs, an overview of private practice taxes, and an invaluable list of resources (plus some exclusive product discounts to help your practice thrive).
Whether it’s designing a beautiful and effective therapist website, creating a custom logo for your practice, or strategizing on your clinical niche, Cris Roskelley at Growing Therapists is ready to help you present your practice like the pro that you are.
