The Podcast is Here!!

One thing I love about having a blog is that I get to project all my own stuff on you guys and imagine that you’re going through it, too. You may have noticed a theme lately around mindset, getting through the hard, and showing up and being seen. Normally when I’m writing blogs I’m easily connected to whatever I’m writing about (I’ll share that magic another time). Today, I’m totally unfocused because every time I focus I get crazy butterflies and feel a little nauseated.

This morning The Abundant Practice Podcast went live. I’ve had such a crazy relationship with this thing: excitement, shame, dread, and finally pride. I’m bad at estimating how much time something will take so my original plan to launch at the beginning of the year was adorably naive.

I wouldn’t call myself impulsive but I would definitely say I’m impatient. I’m an action-taker so to feel like I’m taking action over & over for months without a product felt verrrrry reminiscent of starting my practices. So, I’m feeling you guys.

So, now that it’s Go Time I feel like I did right before my cue during shows in my performing arts high school: Absolute Fucking Terror. I know it’ll abate as soon as I get this puppy live, but until I get used to it (and sadly but honestly, a little external validation), I’ll feel like the time I tripped up the stairs on stage with my very-newly-ex boyfriend in the audience. But, like we’ve been talking about, I can totally handle the discomfort.

Though I’m nervous about being seen or more accurately, heard, I’m crazy proud of this The Abundant Practice Podcast and created a structure that I know will be truly helpful.

Lemme tell you about it:

I’ll be piping through your earbuds 3 times a week (I know what you’re thinking, but I’m a go big or go home kinda girl).

On Consult Mondays I’ll dive into a mini-consultation with a clinician building their business. We’ll tackle one question that will really make a difference in his/her practice.

On What I Wish I’d Said Wednesday's, I get a chance ask some of my consultant friends what they’d add to the conversation. So far I’ve recorded with my friends Joe Sanok, Kelly Higdon, Agnes Wainman, Tiffany McLain, Laura Long, Rajani Levis, Rebecca Wong, and Michael Formica. I’m excited about this because listeners get to hear different perspectives from different consultants.

On Follow-through Friday we step out of our heads about it and get practical, including next steps for anyone else struggling with the same issue. You’ll be able to download worksheets from the show notes to guide you through whatever homework is helpful for the concern discussed that week. I’m loving this because taking action is what builds your practice. So if you love to dream and plan but have a hard time with execution, I’m making it as easy as humanly possible for you to take steps.

You can see how cute it was that I thought this would be launched in month, right?

So, I have an earnest request: Will you please do me the honor of sharing the podcast with your friends and Subscribing, Rating, and Reviewing in iTunes, Stitcher, etc? Those actions will make a big difference in the podcast being found by folks who are growing their businesses and help me feel like the sweat and tears (no blood, thankfully) are paying off.

So, I wanna hear from you: what have you done lately that scared you? Let us know in the comments.

P.S. I’d like to thank Melvin Varghese whose The Healthcasters podcasting eCourse and community gave me the courage and the tools to make this happen. If you’re interested in podcasting, you should totally join. Also my dad who I hired to edit the podcast. His perfectionism (total Virgo) makes me and my guests sound smarter. I say “um” at least 100 times a minute pre-editing. I’d also like to thank Donna Devaney and Michael J. Formica for letting me pay them to handle the tech stuff so I can focus on content. And the Academy, obvi.
